Proofreading

Proofreading is a final review of a finished document, checking for grammatical and typographical errors as well as other basic errors or inconsistencies. The proofreader will confirm that all heading styles have been used consistently and accurately and will check all page elements, including numbering of tables and charts, page numbering, headers and footers (running heads), placement of graphics, consistency of graphic text (e.g., chapter starts), page breaks, table of contents and cross-references.

Our proofreaders can also do a word-by-word check comparing the edited manuscript with the laid-out version to ensure that no text or formatting has disappeared or crept in, and that all the requested changes have been implemented accurately.
