Freelance Editing Services
Editing
We can tailor our level of editing to suit your needs, your project and your schedule.
Copy editing will always include a thorough review of spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency, and can include a review of the content of your text, tables and charts.
Stylistic editing involves suggesting changes to achieve language appropriate for your audience while maintaining a voice that is recognizably the author’s. The editor will clarify meaning and eliminate redundancies, verbosity and jargon.
Structural or substantive editing includes suggestions for enhancements, additions, deletions or rearrangements to accurately convey your intent. The editor may also create or recast tables and/or figures. Changes can either be suggested to or drafted for the author.
Our freelance editors can go over changes with you to make certain you understand the reasons for their recommendations and to clear up any questions they have about content.
If there are many errors of language in a report, the credibility of the author and the firm is negatively affected. Sheila and her team edit out the errors and flag text that is unclear or inconsistent.
