Who we are

Donna Dawson, Senior Associate, Certified Professional Editor

Donna is a Certified Professional Editor (which means she is certified in structural and stylistic editing, copy editing and proofreading) through the Editors’ Association of Canada. She has been copy editing and proofreading on a freelance basis since 1996. Much of her work has been on medical and pharmaceutical information for consumers and professionals and on stock market and financial documents.

She has worked in fields ranging from theatre, biography and conservation to education, advertising and business theory. She has handled a variety of documents, including medical journals, continuing medical education programs, financial statements, websites, newsletters, books, reports and dissertations. Donna’s rewriting and ghostwriting projects include books, a children’s story and marketing material.

Donna is a voting member of the Editors’ Association of Canada and has undertaken extensive editorial training with EAC. She was one of the first editors in Canada to achieve EAC certification in proofreading and copy editing. Donna has a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) degree in Theatre from York University.
